Lowenstein Sandler represented Playground Global, an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in deep tech and assists startups with software, hardware, machine learning, marketing, talent and design, in the $35 million Series A financing of Atomic AI, a San Francisco, CA-based biotechnology company combining machine learning with structural biology to unlock RNA drug discovery. Other participants included 8VC, Factory HQ, Greylock, NotBoring, AME Cloud Ventures, Nat Friedman, Doug Mohr, Neal Khosla, and Patrick Hsu.
Atomic AI intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, expand operations and its business reach.
Lowenstein previously represented Playground in late 2022 in the closing of a seed round for another biotech company, Infinimmune, which pioneers new methods for antibody drug discovery and development.
The deal team included Carl J. Hessler, Mark P. Kesslen, Ed Zimmerman, Darren Goodman, Carmen C. DeMatteis, Oluwaseyi O. Amorin, and Chynara Tolubaeva.
