Her approach is holistic by design. Her bespoke partnership model emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with brand, marketing, regulatory, and other stakeholders to align legal strategy with commercial objectives. Vanessa’s practice extends well beyond trademark registration and enforcement to encompass copyright protection, trade dress, technology law, domain names, advertising, digital media, rights of publicity, social media, and influencer matters. She manages national and global trademark portfolios for market leaders across diverse industries, including cosmetics, consumer health and wellness, apparel, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, animal health, digital platforms, AI backed technologies, and food and beverage, among others.

Whether applying specialized knowledge of pharmaceutical name clearance aligned with regulatory drug nomenclature, working with her extensive global network of foreign counsel in more than 100 countries, or advising on cutting-edge issues, Vanessa delivers coordinated, efficient solutions in high-stakes, multi-jurisdictional matters.
When it comes to defending against exploitation and counterfeits, Vanessa’s track record of success is not just impressive — it’s undefeated when it comes to combatting online trademark infringement and cybersquatting. She secures victories in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, navigates contested trademark matters across global jurisdictions, and maintains an impeccable success rate in overturning refusals to register trademarks at the United States Patent and Trademark Office and agencies worldwide. Vanessa’s first instinct is always to find the most efficient path to resolution, facilitating pragmatic outcomes that protect her clients’ interests without unnecessary cost or disruption. But when the situation calls for it, she is a formidable and tireless advocate. Whether litigating or negotiating disputes involving brand rights, trade dress, copyright infringement, or false advertising, Vanessa’s tactical approach consistently protects what her clients have built.
Vanessa also structures and negotiates IP agreements that protect the interests of buyers and sellers in corporate transactions involving trademark, copyright, and domain name assets. She resolves complex chain of title issues and perfects security interests.
