Raquel Smith represents companies, investors, private equity sponsors, banks, and other financial institutions in a broad range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions, with a focus on debt financings and venture financings.

She counsels both borrowers and lenders in debt financing transactions. Raquel is experienced in the drafting, review, and negotiation of credit agreements, loan agreements, term sheets, commitment papers, collateral and security documents, and other agreements related to secured and unsecured facilities for term, revolving, and asset-based loans.

Raquel also advises venture-backed startups, as well as the funds that invest in them. She guides both emerging companies and established organizations based in the United States and abroad through the process of raising and distributing capital.

Prior to joining Lowenstein Sandler, she practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

Raquel is passionate about creating opportunities for underserved communities, women, and people of color, and enjoys working with purpose-driven companies and investors.
