Lowenstein partner Peter Greene, Vice Chair of the firm’s Investment Management group, has been appointed to the 2021-2022 Board of Directors of the Managed Funds Association (MFA), the leading trade association for the hedge fund and global alternative investment industry.
MFA represents private investment funds and hedge funds. MFA’s more than 140 member firms collectively manage nearly $1.6 trillion across a diverse group of investment strategies, including credit, long/short equity, event-driven, quantitative, and other fund strategies, including hybrid strategies that invest in private companies.

Greene has been recognized as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business by Chambers USA, Chambers Global, and The Legal 500 for his work with hedge funds. Business Insider recently named him one of “the 29 bankers, advisors, and lawyers to know if you’re thinking about starting your own hedge fund.”
A former General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of a buy-side investment firm earlier in his career, Greene now represents well-pedigreed hedge fund managers launching their first funds, and top-50 (by AUM) managers, advising on the formation and structuring of funds and management companies, compliance and regulatory matters, and executive and employee compensation (on both the manager and employee sides). He has particular experience in advising clients with respect to insider trading determinations, including with respect to the purchase, analysis, and use of alternative/big data.
