Her Justice has recognized Carly Coleman, Natalie J. Kraner, and Kathleen A. McGee with a Legal Team Award at the organization’s 2021 Commitment to Justice Awards program for these lawyers’ outstanding representation of a mother fighting for custody of her child.
Her Justice is a nonprofit focused on helping low-income women in New York City by recruiting and mentoring volunteer lawyers to provide free legal help to address individual and systemic legal barriers.
Every year, the organization celebrates the New York City legal community’s commitment to volunteerism at its annual Commitment to Justice Awards, highlighting the very real impact legal relief can have for New York City families.
Her Justice presents the Legal Team Award to a team of volunteer attorneys who go above and beyond for their client, whether it is obtaining much-needed financial support, creating legal precedent, or finding an ingenious way of getting the justice that clients deserve. Her Justice honors the award recipients for their extraordinary dedication to reaching the best possible outcome for their clients.
“Carly, Natalie, and I are so grateful to Her Justice and all of its volunteers for everything they do to provide free legal services to women in need,” says McGee. “We are happy to do our part, and we look forward to our continued collaboration.”
This year, the Commitment to Justice Awards will be celebrated with a weeklong recognition of the organization’s valued pro bono partners and supporters through email communications and social media posts beginning on March 15.
