Lowenstein Sandler has again been named by Seramount as one of the Best Law Firms for Women & Diversity. The annual list recognizes firms that utilize best practices in recruiting, retaining, promoting, and developing women lawyers and lawyers from underrepresented groups, including people of color.

Lowenstein has been recognized as a Seramount Best Law Firm for Women more than ten times since the list’s inception in 2007, earning the firm a place in Seramount’s Hall of Fame.

“We are once again thrilled to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to creating and implementing best practices for recruiting, retaining, promoting, and developing women lawyers,” says Chief Inclusion Officer J. Danielle Carr. “One of the many reasons that lawyers come to Lowenstein to practice is because of our dedication to fostering an inclusive environment.”

“Our Best Law Firms for Women and Diversity demonstrate unwavering commitment, despite the uncertainties in the legal field,” said Subha V. Barry, President of Seramount. “I'm proud of the steady and positive change they are driving, even if it’s a gradual process. I applaud these industry leaders for their dedication to cultivating inclusive firm cultures.”

Seramount’s 2024 Best Law Firms for Women & Diversity application includes 648 questions about attorney demographics at different levels, flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women and people of color as well as those from other underrepresented groups. Questions about family-friendly benefits and mentoring and sponsorship participation are also included.

Lowenstein’s approach to supporting the firm’s  lawyers and administrative team members includes innovative programs and benefits that help everyone who works at the firm achieve their full potential, such as a Sponsorship Program, extended parental leave, a reduced billable hours requirement preceding and upon return from parental leave, a Parental Leave Mentoring Network, and flexible work arrangements such as reduced schedules, flextime, and telecommuting. An additional key element of the firm’s effort to retain and promote women attorneys is the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN), led by Executive Board member Lynda A. Bennett, which is an employee resource group that supports and empowers women lawyers to achieve professional and personal success by fostering meaningful relationships and offering professional development training to help develop their careers and flourish as leaders.
