Foreign Investment Watch (FIW) has included Doreen M. Edelman, partner and Chair of the firm’s Global Trade & Policy group, on its Top Advisors 2020 list of top-ten lawyers who provide legal advice concerning national security reviews of foreign investments in the United States and abroad.
Rankings are based on experience, reputation, clients served, first-person interviews, references, reader recommendations, and articles published, among other criteria.
The publication notes that Edelman founded the firm’s Global Trade & Policy practice, which helps companies minimize risks and increase compliance, with a special focus on cross-border M&A, technology, and government contracts. FIW states, “Not only does [Edelman] have deep knowledge of CFIUS and the new requirements under FIRRMA, but she advises companies on the Bureau of Industry and Security and the Directorate of Defense Controls export control regulations, preparing compliance programs and assisting with deal diligence.” It further praises “her practical guidance, as reflected in a recent guest column in a well-read private-equity publication, which focused on three key principles for firms to adapt to CFIUS.”
Foreign Investment Watch is the only information service exclusively focused on the intersection of foreign investment and national security, from CFIUS filings to global regulatory updates.
