Carmen focuses her practice on transactional matters, including venture and growth capital financings, early-stage investments, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). She represents startup and growth companies in all phases of the corporate life cycle, from corporate formation and day-to-day representation, to advising them in connection with seed and growth financings, to exit in M&A transactions.
Carmen originally joined the firm’s Tech Group in 2007; for seven years, she handled venture and growth equity financings as well as M&A transactions for emerging, growth, and later-stage privately held technology and biotechnology companies.
Before returning to Lowenstein in 2021, Carmen held several positions, including Chief Counsel, Corporate and M&A, at a global medical device company, where she led and managed numerous domestic and international M&A transactions. Her responsibilities also included handling post-closing integration matters, internal restructuring projects, and corporate governance activities for the company’s subsidiaries.
Carmen was born in Germany and is fluent in German. She has great interest in transactions with a German nexus.
