Lowenstein congratulates partner Bruce D. Buechler, Vice Chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring Department, on his nomination by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy to become a judge on the Superior Court of New Jersey. The court holds statewide jurisdiction over statewide and appellate matters. Buechler’s nomination is subject to confirmation by the New Jersey Senate.

“Bruce has been an incredibly important member of our bankruptcy practice and our firm since he joined Lowenstein Sandler nearly 20 years ago,” said Gary M. Wingens, the firm’s Chair and Managing Partner. “All of us who have had the privilege of working with Bruce recognize that he will make a terrific jurist—and one who will make the court system stronger for his role in it.”

“I am deeply honored by this nomination, grateful to the governor for it, and excited about the prospect of joining the Superior Court’s bench,” said Buechler.

Buechler represents business entities such as debtors and creditors' committees in Chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court workouts, and other financial reorganizations. He has been involved in numerous complex, high-profile matters. He regularly counsels clients seeking resolution of commercial business disputes and has also successfully litigated numerous commercial disputes in both federal and state courts.
